parkour gang military compounds

Ok so I was in a city, may have been kelowna, but it seemed larger. I was at a club that had heavy connections to a major gang. There was an area in the back blocked by guards and the like...basically you don't screw around there or snoop anywhere.
I somehow get involved I think with Steve Dalton in going up to see the gang leader, so we go through the building, and there is a huge elaborate staircase then some upper rooms then like this top part with unfinished walls and plastic shielding stuff as well as some burnt pieces of timber.
We are move through this all and meet the gang leader, and for some reason I am not afraid or worried at all. I forget what we said, if anything, so we leave and I start playing some rpg thing, but it's like a complete virtual reality. I get in the game, and am moving past people and there is lava everywhere, and I fall as I do a jump, into the lava, severely burning my face. I am kinda choked...cause come on...I wanted to play the game. I leave there and move through this little village type place and try to recover but from there I end up somehow getting back sorta to the gang house. I just start knocking people over and punching guys, then I am running up and up over walls and through windows and stuff, knocking over tons of furniture and creating a huge mess. I didn't feel bad though, cause it's a gang! I get stuck in one room with high windows and they are not far behind chasing me, so I am trying a pop vault up the wall to get through the window, and finally get over. Once I am outside there is a proliferation of sirens and men moving in on me. There are security guards with dogs and ear pieces looking hardcore, and police cars moving and slowly scanning. Now for some reason initially I was wearing shorts and my shirt that says "I noticed that your gangster, I'm pretty gangster myself", but by this time, what with all my running I guess, I was only wearing short black boxers, since you know, wind resistance ripped off the rest.
I move down off the building into the crowds and there are lots of busses I am kinda sneaking around using. I can hear the security guards talking about a description of what I look like, so I am pretty freaked. My first instinct is just to run, so I move off into the direction of more the suburbs of the city to get away from the crowds and where there would be guards looking for me.
I am running for quite a while and always checking my back and such. I guess the police and guards are chasing me for my damage to the gang place, maybe they have connections blah blah blah.
I finally reach what I believe is the lower edge of dilworth mountain, in kelowna. Now near where I am going there is a guy painting some tinfoil on a wall pink and some old man looking creepy, as well as some other people kinda milling around, all of whom kinda seem to be mentally retarded. I move behind the house being painted pink, up onto some rocky climbage spot and kinda lay back and almost fall asleep. I hear something, and I see a big school bus, but for the military passing me. I immediately lock eyes with steve dalton as he is in the bus.
I wait for the bus to pass and notice that there is a cop car behind it, which really is not a good thing in my situation. But luckily the road is rough and the cop car gets like cut in half I think. I hop the bus and hang with steve as it takes us somewhere. He explains that he tried to take off and got marshalled or whatever for leaving the military. tsk tsk tsk
The bus arrives at this motley collection of apartment buildings, not very barracks-ish at all I must say. Inside we have to use ropes and sometimes rope ladders to get to different floors. I lose track of steve and end up just walking around. In random spots guys are on those beds with wheels using in hospitals, and others are getting surgery, which is quite disturbing. One I can see having his hand cut in surgery using a giant bandsaw, and other ones i don't remember so well.
So then I leave and end up going to the grocery store with paula, my office admin from work. We grab some bread and immediately she throws it in the garbage then grabs it again, so she doesn't have to pay for it. And I think I skipped out on the military curfew thing, but by that time I forget the rest of the dream.

oh work

Get cut by the jimmy beer from the Metal Gear Solid juggling troops

Ok so this is a dream I had recorded back when I was going to uvic, so sometime in 2003/2004. I happened upon the text file just now and thought I would post it as this was one I really love.

I am in this kinda grungy bathroom, at a urinal, going to the washroom. Beside me is Trevor, a friend of mine from Uvic, kinda tall guy, rides bikes. And he says to me "What the hell are you doing?"
to which I respond "I've gotta do what I've gotta do"
then he's like "k man, unless you want me to cut you up a bit"
He is holding a knife as he says this, and proceeds to cut his coat.
So I characteristically respond with "hehe, you can make a flag at home!"

I exit the bathroom, and am in a restaurant, outside of which a giant catepillar digger thing is driving, and I go out there, and am around it, and things seem really inevitable, like I am almost being crushed and it's quite stressful really, but for some reason I am getting some mad respect from everything for what I am avoiding, which would be death. A photographer or journalist or both comes out of the restaurant, and it's Chavez, from clear and present danger, the sniper guy, like super cool guy, so badass. He takes some photos of me...but doesn't help me or anything.

Suddenly I am entering a bar, you know, it being such a traumatic morning I need a drink. I know what I want, and that is the famous "Jimmy" beer. I can't decide between a pint, a half pint, or a bottle. (now that I actually enjoy beer I would clearly choose the pint, on tap is always better). Since I am having a tough time deciding I naturally place the pint, half pint, and bottle on the ground and choose the half pint.

The bartender, Lou (of COURSE) says to me "alright, that's $27" I try to weasel my way out of paying I guess by placing the other beers I didn't drink on the counter. As I finish a man at the bar asks me to try the custard, you know, THE CUSTARD. Well one can't just refuse an offer like that, so I proceed to try it. I guess I was doing him a favour because after I had tried it he asks the bartender to give me a break (from paying I suppose).

Well Lou just looks at me with those intense bartender eyes, as he slowly dries a glass (as all bartenders are doing at ALL times) and says "I like you kid, so I'm gonna foot this bill for ya."

I give him my thanks, leave, and drink some of the beer, then ask "the lady" (the bar lady, a lady outside, I have no idea, she was important for some reason), well I ask her about change rooms in the ladies bathroom...and of course she looks at me rather oddly for asking such a question. I guess I didn't get an answer, JUST JUDGMENT, so I go outside into a parkade.

Now this is where it gets AWESOME.

There is a giant fight going on, between Russian special forces and uncover black ops American forces. The Russians are getting stuff from the lower parking lot, from a big truck full of juggling equipment. Hacky Sack players are throwing things down, hacky sacks, and juggling balls at the Russians, but I am with the Russians, and throw the stuff back at them, to which they cannot CONCEIVE of what is happening to them. UTTER CHAOS.

Then I am in a gun fight against troops who very much look, move, act, and animate just like the ones off of Metal Gear Solid 2: Son's of liberty. I also pick up health packs from near that truck as I fight them.

And that's about where it ends.

a musical festival parade focused on baking

ok...this one may be remembered a bit fuzzy as I re-fell-asleep a lot this morning.

I was hanging out in ubc I think, with Shulin and Hannah. We were kinda running around, and they were involved with basically everything extracurricular. Like to the point of being part of a street crossing guard club. They were all dressed up in bright orange and yellow safety vests and helmets, pretty cool overall. Then I was doing some sweet parkour up into rooms of this building, but not allowed to. Basically from there I totally forget what happened...up until this giant parade that was happening, which seemed to be greatly influenced by drumline. There was one school, Semiamoo (or however you spell it, but like the best school for musicians in high school in BC, they are nuts) and they were so elaborate and arrogant, having the best setup. They were all in purple with like giant frilly hats, kinda like Dr Seuss's Bartholomew and the 500 hats. Their theme though was baking. So instead of walking with snare drums they had big mixing bowls that they were drumming on with ladles. Then people in the back had humongous measuring cups with flour in them, which some of them dropped.
there was so much more going on too...but I can't remember now...that is unfortunate.

photo taking

I don't spend enough time fine tuning my photographs. Seriously...I have a beautiful camera, and there are many shots I have wanted to print and make black and white etc, but haven't. So tonight I did a few, and put them on my deviantart account. I am stoked about this spontaneous portrait shot of shane clayborn (I think that's his name..)

I guess I am breaking my statement that I would only put dreams on here...and I had such a weird one the other day...boh well.

Anyways, this is one of my fav photos I have taken as of late.

of ice cream, monster dump trucks, and shrinking helicopters

ok, so it seemed last night/this morning I had an interesting dream. First it seemed to start with me doing tech at church for some random little girl who was acting much older than she looked. I had to sync up some songs from moulin rouge I think, but then at the same time I kept looking at a calendar of animals on an adventure and really liked april I think, which had a really big log, and some animals scrambling about. Anyways, so i finally got this thing running, and it went alright I suppose. Afterwards I was outside, I think, and I saw Meghan Akitt from summerland, and we started going out. Then Randy, the tech leader guy from Alive at willowpark, started a new business, and since I did well doing camera for him I guess I just started working for him at his new business. It happened to be scooping ice cream. So I started leaving wherever I was, and ended up trying to get to the ice cream place. On the way there were tons of basically monster trucks, but dump trucks, going all over the place. They had giagantic tires and were pulling trailers as well. The whole are was getting dug up. I got to work late, and all he had was one little block of ice cream and a bunch of empty buckets. Don Cameron was suddenly there, sitting on a really nice red harley, in the store. He sat weirdly in it too, really leaning forward to make it turn better for some reason...
Then I was at a pool I think, at least in a changeroom, and found this tiny corridor like maybe 10 inches wide. I was under the impression that "oh that must be where I can put my stuff in locking lockers". I squeexed myself into the narrow space and pushed the wall away from me almost knocking it over, then I got to the opener spot, and there was a motion detector and I could see over the whole area of change rooms. It was as if all the changerooms were laid out like a maze so there was no roof. And this motion sensor was there to stop people from you know, looking at the change rooms of the opposite sex. Now for clarification i was there for the lockers, which weren't there as my common sense seemed to have told me.
I know this is going all over the place, but there's still more.
I was suddenly hanging out with Ryan hewitt, my friend from work. We were up beside a monster dump truck, trying to find a spot to go to the bathroom (interesting, Chris and I discussed a dream we each had where this happened...and thus it has affected last nights dream). We found a spot, I won't go into detail or anthing though. Then for some reason we got a free ride in a helipcopter. We went on top of a building and I got in first, and just got to check things out. Many of the buildings had this giant amount of cables going into them, and these were getting strewn about by the wind from the helicopter. Once they started moving then they shot out huge explosions of flame and just nailed the building. It was close each time for the helicopter. We returned to the building so Ryan could give it a go, but strangely the helicopter disappeared and fit into ryan's parachute backpack thing. I suppose it was meant to fly out with him inside somehow when he jumped.
So IMMEDIATLY Ryan jumps off the building, the environment kinda reminds me of some levels from half life 2, a little tepid river and old buildings EXPLODING...well those cables exploding.
He falls, and alas, no helicopter came out of his backpack. BIG SURPRISE. He is able to pull the cord for the parachute though, and kinda awkwardly lands in the water. Then he swears and throws a knife onto a balcony outn of frustration that the helicopter didn't come out. He started swimming to shore and someone swam out under him and popped up in front of his face, which was weird.
And I believe that that is all that happened...I just woke up and made sure I got this all out, I liked that dream, except for having to scoop ice cream again.
